Welcome to the module on how to e-file a motion with supporting documents from the courts homepage click on the e-filing website to access the ikaw web filing system enter your efiling username and password you received from the court you must also check the notice of redaction box prior to clicking the login button the e-filing home page appears before selecting any filing option verify your current address in this training module I will demonstrate the single file upload option if you wish to batch documents refer to the batching instructions on the courts website located under the training modules the first step is to specify a filing type click on the drop down menu to view the list of filing types select the appropriate filing type that best describes the type of document you wish to e-file for this demonstration I will be selecting the motions responses objections and orders option from the drop-down menu click Next enter the case number using the four-digit year and five digit case number this is a required field and must be entered in the format indicated to the right of the case number field the adversary number field is to be used when a filing documents in an adversary proceeding if used enter the adversary number using the format to the right of the adversary number field all motions filed in the bankruptcy case and adversary proceedings shall include a docket Control Number designated as dcn on all pleadings and other documents including proofs a service filed in support of or opposition to motions the docket control number shall consist of not more than three letters which may be the initials of the attorney for the moving party or the first three initials of the law firm for example the first stalker control number assigned to this attorney is mi W 1 the second would be mi W - 2 and third miw - three and so on for more information please refer to our local rule 90 14-1 or the training module on docket control numbers click the next button to continue now specify a document type from the drop down menu there are a variety of document types to select click and highlight the type of document that best describes the document you wish to e-file for this example I will be demonstrating a motion for relief from stay the specified document subtype prompt will appear if the document you are filing requires a subtype click on the drop down menu so you can select and highlight the appropriate document subtype next click on the Browse button to locate and attach your PDF file navigate to the location on your computer where your PDF file is stored you should always verify the PDF file to ensure that you have chosen the correct document to confirm that you are uploading the correct document click the image icon next to the file being uploaded an image of the document you are submitting will appear in a new window return to the PDF file location to click and highlight the PDF file for submission to attach and upload your document click on the Open button the file will now display on the list of files to be uploaded review the single file upload page prior to clicking the continue button this page displays the filing type case information document type document subtype and the lead pleading if you have selected the wrong PDF file click on the Remove button to remove the PDF file from the upload list so you can browse and attach the correct PDF file if you have other supporting documents that relate to the matter click on the drop down box from the document type menu to specify a supporting document to add supporting documents to the lead pleading you must change the document type click on the drop down box from the list of document types to select the supporting document for this example I will be selecting notice of court hearing as my supporting document when adding supporting documents after the initial filing type has been selected you will notice the document subtype option is no longer necessary click on the Browse button to locate and attach the supporting PDF file navigate to the location on your computer where your PDF file is stored highlight the PDF file for submission and click on the Open button to upload your document the lead pleading and the supporting document now displays on the list of files to be uploaded if you have additional documents to upload continue adding all supporting documents that relate to the motion once all supporting documents have been selected they will appear in the list of files to be uploaded in this example the motion and all related documents have been selected and ready for upload click the continue button to proceed if your submission contains errors it cannot be processed a message will display with a list of files that contain errors once the Corrections have been made resubmit the documents to continue e-filing click on the return to single file upload tab if no errors are detected the next step when filing a document that may require a fee is to answer submission questions to determine if a fee is required after answering the submission question click on the continue button to proceed the submission verification screen appears this is your final opportunity to view your documents to ensure you have chosen the correct PDF files to confirm that you are uploading the correct documents click the image icon next to the file being uploaded an image of the document you are submitting will appear in a new window if the documents are correct click on the submit button if the documents are incorrect click on the discard button and start the process over the submission summary page appears this confirms your documents were uploaded successfully each document filed will contain
